Baptist Health Floyd is offering a free Osteoporosis and Spinal Compression Fractures Seminar on Thursday, November 6 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Paris Health Education Center. Many aging adults, especially women, develop osteoporosis and, as a result, spinal compression fractures are created from the weakened bones of the spine, which can be very painful. Board certified orthopedic/spine surgeon Frank Castro, MD, will cover ways to prevent osteoporosis, explain how compression fractures of the spine are created as a result of osteoporosis and discuss the latest technology for treating these compression fractures.
