New Albany, Indiana – Recently, Baptist Health Floyd was notified that it has received accreditation from the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) for transfusion services, after receiving a perfect review. Baptist Health Floyd is the only Southern Indiana facility to have received this two-year accreditation.
The AABB process is a rigorous, quality-and operation systems-based assessment designed to encourage innovation and ongoing quality improvement.
The AABB conducted their assessment on August 4, 2014, and noted that the Baptist Health Floyd staff was very professional, well prepared and committed to high quality.
“I am very proud of this accomplishment,” said Alan Elliott, director of Laboratory services at Baptist Health Floyd. “The entire team here is committed to high quality care for our patients. This accreditation shows their commitment to our entire community and the pride they put into their work each and every day.”
The AABB accreditation program is itself accredited by the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua).
